While I do agree that there should be more proportional allocation of the electoral college votes but the reasons behind the GOP’s motivations to make the changes now are highly disingenuous. Just like their attempts to suppress Democratic voters this last election and the gerrymandering of many districts after the 2010 midterms this electoral change is only about finding a way to skew the system to win.
For some Obama’s re-election represented the coming of the rapture but for the rest of us it was a time to cheer as we realized, with a unified voice the majority of Americans chose the intelligent, human with a great sense of humor over the robot.
How can anyone still wonder why he was re-elected?
Since they started way back in 1940 this group of experts have correctly predicted the winner each presidential election for the past 68 years except for two. Will their record hold true for this, their 18th election?
Who are these experts, you may ask? They are an intelligent group of individuals, 250,000 strong from all 50 states, 90 percent of whom say they would like to president some day. These experts are people you and I may know. They are our neighbors. They are this country’s future leaders. This group of experts are this nation’s students who have thoughtfully considered their choices before voting in this the 18th Scholastic Student Vote.
From the New York Times
WASHINGTON — The Congressional Research Service has withdrawn an economic report that found no correlation between top tax rates and economic growth, a central tenet of conservative economic theory, after Senate Republicans raised concerns about the paper’s findings and wording.
The decision, made in late September against the advice of the agency’s economic team leadership, drew almost no notice at the time. Senator Charles E. Schumer, Democrat of New York, cited the study a week and a half after it was withdrawn in a speech on tax policy at the National Press Club.
In what could become Mitt Romney’s J.D. Hayworth moment this ABC News video utterly contradicts the Republican presidential candidates calls to severely cut government spending. As with J.D. Hayworth – John McCain’s Tea Party challenger in 2010 who was caught in “Free Government Money” informercial which contributed to his election loss – this video may be the metaphorical topper to the ex-governor’s campaign of flip-flopping. Depending on the coverage it receives, Mitt may have essentially shot himself in the foot.
Feel free to reblog, retweet and spread this video around the web to any of those who may still be on the fence during this important election.
Younger voters may pass on this years presidential elections. “It’s almost like if someone were voting in this election, it’d be like the lesser of two evils.” was the sentiment given by one Bowling Green University student in the swing state of Ohio. A new study found many of the under-30 crowd are not particularly interested in the sparing contest between President Obama and his challenger, Mitt Romney.
Despite young voters, those under 30 are more likely to vote Democrat, larger numbers of them are experiencing a lack in enthusiasm due in part to candidates’ inability to locate that common ground with college students.
Mitt Romney has touted his job creation prowes throughout the 3 presidential debates even providing us with a number, 12 MILLION new jobs during his first term. That’s great… that’s astounding! That would best even Obama’s 5.4 million new jobs over the last 2 years. But how will he accomplish this? Well, the answer is… NOTHING. In order to create 12 million new jobs within his first term Mitt Romney, President Mitt Romney will have to do nothing whatsoever… for the simple reason that those 12 million new jobs are ALREADY slated to be created under current Obama policies. As with foreign policy, all Mr. Romney has to do is continue with what has already been done under the Obama presidency.
The most beautiful moment of the 3rd presidential debate was when President Obama educated Mitt Romney about the modern US Navy. If you look close, you can watch Romney’s jaw steadily tighten and his lip grin stretch thinner and thinner throughout the President’s lecture. Overall, the takeaway of this scene is Mr. Romney’s misunderstanding that the US Navy is not a game of boys pushing their toy ships around a map of the world, it’s about the reality of the modern military, the men and women serving within in it and the global responsibilities one takes on as commander-in-chief?
After almost a year of swearing voter fraud was a huge problem plaguing the American system of democracy, proof has finally come to light. The evidence to validate all the GOP-led state legislatures anti-fraud laws is now out for all to see…. and it is slowly creeping up the rungs of Republican National Committee’s ladder. Republicans finally have thier proof and it is rooted squarely in their own organizations.
