Breitbart Reporter Hagel Claims Rest on Fake Hamas Group

Ted Cruz, Mike LeeIn what has to be one of the most ridiculous examples of Republican, post-election desperation questions about Secretary of Defense nominee Chuck Hagel’s association with Hezbollah and Hamas are proven false, based on a joke by a New York Daily News reporter. Similar to past Republican gullibilities as belief in a Planned Parenthood abortion factory and Mitch McConnell’s latest flub, believing an Onion-esque article about Guantanamo detainees given veterans’ benefits, Senate Republicans have once again fallen for fake information.

The Daily Scoop: My break with the extreme right

I worked for Reagan and wrote for National Review. But the new hysterical right cares nothing for truth or dignity

Irish President lectures a Tea Partier & pays homage to the America

Whatever Works

From Kay this morning:

If my Irish father were still alive, he’d be bursting with pride in Irish President Michael D. Higgins. As am I – for both his sentiments and because  he speaks in clear full sentences and doesn’t pause for applause, something that is absent in our country today. Our public political languages are now Bumpersticker and Gasbaggery. We have no orators.

I especially like his outrage at our moral failure regarding health care.

Tea Party Rejection or just Mixed Messages

Last Tuesday night people throughout the country went to the polls to weigh in on numerous local initiatives and representation. Giving voters their last chance to directly express their views before next year’s presidential elections, many of the contests could very well be viewed as referendums on Democrats, President Obama and those elected in the 2010 Republican resurgent wave.
